What we collect and why
- Enquiry data — name, contact details and what you tell us about your security needs, used to respond and quote (legal basis: steps prior to a contract).
- Client & assignment data — site details, contacts and instructions needed to deliver the security services you engage us for (legal bases: contract and legitimate interests).
- Operational records — patrol logs, incident reports and, where CCTV is provided, footage, used to deliver and evidence the service (legal bases: contract, legitimate interests and legal obligation).
- Usage data — basic analytics about how the site is used, to improve it (legal basis: legitimate interests).
CCTV footage
Where we install or operate CCTV, footage is handled in line with the ICO's CCTV code of practice and UK GDPR — with appropriate signage, limited retention and controlled access. Retention periods are agreed with each client and footage is securely deleted when no longer required.
Who we share data with
The police and other authorities where lawfully required or to report an incident; software providers that host our systems (bound by processing agreements); and nobody else except where the law requires. We do not sell personal data.
Retention
Assignment and incident records are kept for as long as needed to deliver the service and meet our legal and insurance obligations, then securely deleted. Enquiry data from people who don't become clients is deleted within 12 months.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict processing, and request portability. Write to info@igisecurityservices.co.uk — we respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Security
Data is stored on access-controlled systems in the UK or jurisdictions covered by UK adequacy decisions or appropriate safeguards, and travels over encrypted channels.
